My name is Céline Cruickshanks.

I founded Colisée, a multilingual agency for Translation and Intercultural written communication,
out of my passion for written communication, literature, and languages
as well as my excellent understanding of the French and English languages and cultures.

I had the great fortune to study and work abroad in a number of countries,
including Austria, Denmark, Australia, China, Japan, and the USA.
I have developed a greater grasp of the world, and most importantly,
a broader respect of cultural diversity, which has motivated me to translate the written word,
via my extended travels abroad, encounters, and the course of different professional experiences.

Thus, for the past fifteen years, I have been providing translation services
from English to French and from French to English to local and international companies,
individuals and associations in France and abroad.

Interpreter of literature

Having always enjoyed reading and literature,
I returned to university in 2014
to earn a master’s degree in comparative literature,
followed by a master’s degree in literary translation.

After a successful experience in publishing,
I have been working as a literary translator for a few years now
and I’ve already translated six English-language novels
that have been or are being published in France.
I am currently working on number 7.

Passing on experiences

In order to help people who want to write their memoirs
for future generations, travel books, or any other private document,
I just added a new writing service to my repertoire.

Because it is said that
“one does not translate texts, but one writes translations,”
writing is a logical progression for me.
